| Make Virtualization Work for Your Business in 2010 and Beyond |
| |
Join us in Santa Clara, CA, and ensure your IT division obtains
virtualization's promise of cost reduction and efficiency gains |
|

Virtualization cuts across just about all that you might find in the today's data center: to one degree or another, clients, servers, applications, storage systems, data networks, and security can all now be virtualized.
By compressing multiple workloads onto a single physical server, Virtualization enables data centers to save tremendous amounts of money on hardware, power, cooling and floor space.
For small and midsized enterprises, Virtualization can also help data centers tap into levels of fault tolerance previously enjoyed only by huge organizations.
And chief executives are discovering that Virtualization has the potential not only to improve the balance sheet, but also to strengthen competitive advantage and put a shine on the corporate brand.
Designing and managing IT environments independently from physical limitations is what Virtualization is all about, and it is a fast-changing technology, which is why the 8th International Virtualization Conference & Expo on November 1-4, 2010 ? the most regularly held and longest-running 100% Virtualization focused event in the world is dedicated to bringing clarity about its role and importance to all attending delegates.
Managers will leave Virtualization Expo with a full understanding of the interaction between virtual servers and the rest of the data center infrastructure. Indeed our overall aim is to ensure through an intensive three-day schedule of keynotes, general and breakout sessions, and not least our bustling Expo Floor that all attending delegates leave the Santa Clara Convention Center with abundant resources, ideas and examples they can apply immediately to leveraging Virtualization in their own corporate datacenter, on the desktop, and elsewhere.
| The Santa Clara Convention Center is the only place to be November 1-4, 2010. Whether you're an enterprise or small to medium business, you'll soon be benefiting from Virtualization. So join your peers in New York City and learn how to maximize those benefits already in 2010. See you in Santa Clara! |

Interactivity is driving Big Data, with people and machines both consuming and creating it. Digital companies focused on becoming good at aggregating and analyzing the data created by the end users of their product, who then provide their customers with solid insights taken from that data are at a distinct competitive advantage over others in the marketplace. It joins the ranks of terms including: grid computing, utility computing, virtualization, clustering, etc.
Cloud computing overlaps some of the concepts of distributed, grid and utility computing, however it does have its own meaning if contextually used correctly. The conceptual overlap is partly due to technology changes, usages and implementations over the years.
Trends in usage of the terms from Google searches shows Cloud Computing is a relatively new term introduced in the past year. There has also been a decline in general interest of Grid, Utility and Distributed computing.
Likely they will be around in usage for quit a while to come. But Cloud computing has become the new buzz word driven largely by marketing and service offerings from big corporate players like Google, IBM and Amazon. Virtualization Blogs Live By Cloud Ventures When it comes to building new cloud services, there is a large opportunity for new services built around Big Data.
So when you look at consulting firms that provide application development and integration services, are there opportunities for them to leverage Big Data in their service portfolio?
For enterprise consultancy, cloud platforms and tools such as enterprise integration framework and development software can be used to provide line-of-business, e-commerce and system integration services. And the nice thing about Big Data is that it helps provide opportunities to build financial... May. 16, 2012 08:00 AM EDT | By Nicos Vekiarides All the buzz surrounding OpenStack over the past few months may beg the question of whether Openstack can repeat for Cloud what Linux has done for server operating systems over the past several years. With an enthusiastic following and a compelling, if not industry-leading set of functionality, the possibilities may be boundless. This week’s announcement of the HP Cloud public beta, an OpenStack-based cloud that includes compute, object storage and a content delivery network, provides even further momentum to this open source effort. Throughout history there has been a cycle that ebbs and flows where new technology makes production more efficient and reduces the need for manpower in a particular space, thus forcing those in charge into the difficult position of deciding who stays and who goes. This is normally replaced by an uptake in needs for employees elsewhere, and eventually by expansion of the original vertical market, a return to labor-heavy workloads. This cycle has existed (in a variety of forms) for ages. With a crossbow, less skill and more bodies were needed to field an army. With early guns, more skill and l... These concerns are well-founded but the benefits of Cloud are too great to ignore. To obtain these benefits, companies must adopt techniques that protect against the attendant risks, without compromise.
